Black Rap is a student publication at Lake Forest College that has its roots in the Civil Rights Movement and was revived in the Spring of 2020. I was invited to design the entire 50-page second issue with the exception of the cover, which was created by Ellen Kazembe and Kuziva Mutseyekwa, and the images, which were chosen by the rest of the editorial team. My goal was to keep the design appealing to the main audience of college students, so I used modern typefaces in a relatively minimal layout in conjunction with a more colorful palette.
